Parcha Sweets
Marian Mulero, an award-winning pastry chef, and Keila Mulero, her business-minded older sister, are the women behind Parcha Sweets, a Broad Ripple-based pastry boutique open since November 2010.
The word “parcha” means passionfruit in their native country of Puerto Rico. And the sisters’ backgrounds blend a perfect combination for sweet success.
Chef Marian attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Orlando, Fla., and studied with some of the best French pastry chefs in the world, while Keila’s expertise is sales and marketing.
“We thought we would make a great team and a perfect business model,” Keila says.
Along with offering an array of beautiful, delicate and delicious pastry choices, Chef Marian also provides classes for novice bakers who are interested in learning the secrets of baking pastries from scratch.
The classes, which are $45 per person, focus on method, artistry and visual presentation. The fee includes materials. Cupcake classes for kids age 4 and up are $25 per person and include two pastries and a custom decorating kit.
